The 2008 cuvée Cathleen is quite surprising. The aromatics are very restrained and youthful. It is not showing the spiciness of any of the 08 and 09wines from the vine Hill Vineyards. This is almost like a new release. The wind has restrained fruit slightly underripe nectarine. Golden Apple. But but very much still tightly wound for a wine with this much age. This has great concentration and length with a very very tiny hint of Caramel and vanilla in the finish. Wow!

Always so good. Wish they made more! Nice layers of fruits and minerals, smooth all the way across and a finish that just goes and goes.

Who says Cali chard does not age well? This was a real treat. Yes acid was not there but this was an extraordinary wine. Happy I kept some of these for all of these years.
