Some Spanish funk mixed in with nice tannins. In great shape for being 5 years old.

Drank 10/15/18.

Nice paring with a pancetta spiced pork chop. See my earlier rating for tasting notes very nice for the price.

Pairing this along side home-made pizza tonight, yum. Tannic cherry notes going into the decanter, notes forthcoming... $6.90 at my Costco.

Color is black cherry, only translucent at the edges.

Nose has earthy cherry, trending a little towards cherry syrup, interesting.

Palate has fresh cherry, light toasty wood, simple yet vivid but the finish is heady, maybe more air time is needed... Faint mocha notes make an appearance.

Definitely a solid value for the price.

Drank 7/16/18.

Another Costco Value wine at $7 or $8.

Medium nose of red cherry and some soggy earth scents Dark flavors of black cherry, tar, coffee, and some light wood flavors are backed by medium + tannins. Medium finish. Gets a just little muddy on the flavor profile, but does open up with some time. Overall not a bad wine, and a great value.

3/21/7/3/3 + 50 = 87 pts.

Totally drinkable. Good to have a case on hand for second bottle or cheap Tuesday night

Big oaky Rioja. Picked this up as an experiment. I am floored by how good this is for the price point.

For $8, it was very good. I wouldn’t pay over $10 for it though
