Pairing this along side home-made pizza tonight, yum. Tannic cherry notes going into the decanter, notes forthcoming... $6.90 at my Costco.
Color is black cherry, only translucent at the edges.
Nose has earthy cherry, trending a little towards cherry syrup, interesting.
Palate has fresh cherry, light toasty wood, simple yet vivid but the finish is heady, maybe more air time is needed... Faint mocha notes make an appearance.
Definitely a solid value for the price.

Another Costco Value wine at $7 or $8.
Medium nose of red cherry and some soggy earth scents Dark flavors of black cherry, tar, coffee, and some light wood flavors are backed by medium + tannins. Medium finish. Gets a just little muddy on the flavor profile, but does open up with some time. Overall not a bad wine, and a great value.
