I saw this Macedonian merlot xenomavro Syrah blend at Whole Foods in the world wine section and was very interested to try it. The label tells Little to nothing about the grape source(s) nor about production techniques. It’s nose is rather barn yard and my first impression was a bit funky... but then I tried it with some dry aged Gouda and it’s really very good. For $11 a great deal!
