60/25/15 GMS blend, 446 cases made. Ruby red, moderate pigment extraction, very good clarity. Strawberry and raspberry aromas, flavors. Tart on initial pour, some skin astringency on finish. Decant. It’s unfiltered and unfined, so this is ageable. Curious there’s not much apparent seed tannin bitterness though. Will revisit after it opens up more, which is two hours minimum. Bitterness kicks in a bit here, skin astringency remains but the flavors have deepened, resolved, less raw fresh berry character and more drinkability. Decant longer if you can. Tartness is gone and you have a nice red wine here, food ready. Nice blend of varietal proportions as well, Grenache tangerine peel emerging alongside the strawberry and rather restrained raspberry. Yum!

Grass, coriander, and wet stone - an interesting nose to say the least.
Heavier bodied, blackberry bramble, welches grape juice, white pepper, light tannins and chomping at the oak stave acidity.

With global warming, this GSM is much more attractive than 90% of the Southern Rhône blends it’s patterned after. Nose has lots of kirschy Grenache fruit, loads of smoky ground stone minerality, and roasted green herbs. Trim yet mouthfilling, the palate is dry, not jammy at all, yet with nicely ripe fruit and tons of savory notes accompanied by zingy acids. Great dinner pal.

Very interesting wine - smells like a soft fruit forward wine, like a Gamay in a way..
Soft indeed! Candied fruit cake fruits, light to medium bodied, blackberry, smoke, fruit at the bottom black cherry yoghurt, due to the creaminess of the mouthfeel. This doesn’t tasty like it’s touched oak at all, maybe a few revolutions in a concrete egg.. multi layered and worth a tipple.

Second tasting, my last bottle of vintage, 8 months since previous tasting. Purple-red, moderately extracted, very good clarity. Initially butter, black currant and eucalyptus notes in nose. Tart; needs time to open. Strawberry and blueberry flavors with length. Strawberry aftertaste with moderate chocolatey bitterness. Moderate skin astringency emerges after 45 minutes alongside pomegranate-like acidity (and maybe flavor). Milder Brett expression here, not much of a defect now, arguably. After 90 minutes, the tannins and tartness are sufficiently tamed to enjoy this wine. Decant longer though if you can. I can’t think of any other wines in the Pacific Northwest quite like this one, which makes it a special experience.

54% Grenache 38% Mourvèdre 8% Syrah. Purple red, medium extracted. Light Brett and blue fruit in nose, later, strawberry and mint notes emerge. Strawberry and cherry flavors, medium tannins and astringency initially, a tad hot? Eucalyptus aftertaste. Allow one hour to open. Overall, a surprising expression of these two to three-ish varietals.

The call of the crane, Gsm blend wild strawberry fresh berry pie grey it pretty floral notes notes of green tea and they use American oak a bit of funk here Brett. Light red berry and a bit of that funk on the finish but not off putting. VG
