The first Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay was released in 1983. Dark Ruby with complex red fruit aromas and a jolt of spice. On the palate cherry and plum flavors with smoky peppery spice notes. Bold tannins, medium finish ending with earthy tones. Better than some prior vintages but not a fan. Tasting Sample.

Drinking Kendall-Jackson Merlot with Thomas in Maine. Rainy day in Acadia hiked Precipice Trail and now watching the Presidential debate between Trump and Biden.

We like Merlots for their easy-going style and softer tannins that pair well with so many options from the everyday “pop and pour” to the serious sophisticated wine enthusiast. Yet this Merlot from a well known producer left us a little short. Thin and poorly balanced there are so many better options at this price point. Ok for a large casual gathering but not for sipping by the fire on a Canadian winter night. 13.5% Alc by vol. ~$18.00 USD Cheers 🍷

Violet edge, violet floral aroma is spreading out from my glass. Calm and easy to drink. Good balance without any rough taste. It would possibly be good two days after opening. @1275, XMOUTON, 180707

Did not like at first. Came back to it a couple days later and don’t hate it.

Meh. Okay. Not the greatest. I would not pay full price for the bottle.
