The 2010 La Cruz is a classic example of Petaluma Gap wine from the always stellar Keller Family. Dark cherry, spice and a umami character that may come from the soil being composed of former seabed

Boy does this wine stink, in a great way! Some of the most powerfully pleasant aromatics from a Pinot I've experienced in a long time. Musty barnyard on the nose but with a clean, gentle, and refined citrus profile. Ever so slight salinity on the finish.

From a 375ml. Secondary characteristics dominate the nose that includes mushrooms and red fruit. Still decent but definitely on the decline. Not enough acid to keep this drinking well for much longer. Tannins have completely subsided. Drink up.

Spice, dark fruit, herbs, damp earth on the nose. Great acid in the mouth. Long finish. Good weight but sleek and elegant. This is a beautiful Sonoma pinot noir.

Out of a split. Popped and poured. Lots of strawberries but little else. Super easy and frankly a little boring. This would impress simpler palates.

Notes of cherry and pomegranate on the nose. Tart fruit up front, cranberry, sour cherry and rhubarb followed by vanilla, sweet oak and cocoa on the medium finish.

Dark cola, sour cherries and ripe plumb dominate the core, subtle hints of porcini mushrooms and forest floor round out the medium long finish. Still showing well for a 2003.

Pomegranate, fig, nutmeg, dried leaves. Good integration of fruit and oak on the palate with medium acidity and soft tannin. Very nice, drinkable new world Pinot.
