Apr 13th, 201806' Kelham Vineyard Sons Red Blend. Unbelievably this is the current vintage?!?
75% CB 20% Merlot 5% PV.
Full- bodied. Dark brick red in color. Bold nose- Sandalwood . Dried cranberries, wet leather, lingering spices. Rich oak, 6/10 tannins. Predominately Cabernet ? We've never had anything quite like this before coming out of Oakville? Something to do with the barrel selection & toasting??
I need to pop this one for the wine nerd herd. Love to get their opinion on the wine. I'm thinking it has at least another 10 years in it. There's no scheduled release date for the 2007 !?!

06' Kelham Vineyards Sons Red Blend. Keeping my eyes on this winery. I had a couple of these Kelham last week at the "Taste of Oakville". Current release ? They set this wine down just shy of 10 years before releasing it! Looking forward to trying the 2007 this fall đ.

2013 Kelham Vineyards âSonsâ Proprietary Red â Oakville, Napa Valley
Crafted by Rawson Kelham and inspired by his wife Susannaâs love for balanced reds, âThe Sonsâ is a masterful blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, and 10% Sangiovese. Lovingly bottled by Rawsonâs stepsonsâwhoâve been at the helm of this line for over 20 yearsâthis 2013 vintage was cellared until 2016, with just 300+ cases produced.
Now, over a decade since harvest, this wine is a revelation. The blend unfolds seamlessly-structured, layered, and impossibly harmonious. Aromatically, itâs a mature tapestry of dark cherries, dried herbs, cedar, and hints of worn leather. On the palate, itâs intense yet controlled: lush black fruit, plum, a whisper of tobacco, and an echo of sweet balsamic reduction that brings complexity without weight.
Whatâs most striking is its youthful acidityâthis bottle feels alive, still pulsing with energy as if itâs just waking up. That freshness paired with age-built depth makes it one of the most compelling wines Iâve had from Kelham (and Iâve had manyâsee my past notes!).
This is Oakville at its best. Bold, nuanced, timeless.

Built like a massive Bordeaux. Slate, raspberries, menthol, Settled down nicely after 30 minutes in the glass. A long way to go.
