Isosceles Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon Blend
Dark purple. Deep-pitched cassis, cherry-vanilla and pipe tobacco aromas are complemented by a building floral note and a hint of cracked pepper. Rich but energetic as well, showing solid thrust to the dark berry preserve, mocha and rose pastille flavors. Finishes on a smoky note, with strong tenacity, lingering floral oak spice character and steadily building tannins. All new French oak. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, December 2020)

1 person found it helpfulDec 10th, 2020The Paso Robles Cab which is standing up to the Napa latest and greatest and a young gun at that. The nose is mossy, musty with underlying fruit and spice notes. The mouthfeel is meaty, chewy, gamy almost, with a ripe fruit coating the palate, medium minus acidity, high alcohol, dry, it’s got a short finish with notes of dark chocolate and licorice… It works! Avant-garde-ly in away: hot climate Cab done right.

Jan 2nd, 2022Who would have thought that after all that waiting, I'd finally end up opening this bottle on a random Thursday night in December? My brother got me this bottle for my birthday back in February and I was waiting for a celebratory moment to open it, but hey, who says I can't celebrate a Thursday?
Deep plum color, and almost completely opaque. Heady, subtle, deep fruit scent. Toasted oak and vanilla, black cherry, baking spice, maybe a little tobacco? Well worth the hype. Taste is smooth and soft and it gave me a little chill. Medium body, lovely tannin to balance out the beginning. I love it.
Yum. Amazing.

Sep 11th, 2021Compared the 2017 and the 2018 with our Isosceles partners the Wilson’s. Group agreed that the ‘18 is a touch less acidic than the ‘17. But, this time I found them generally underwhelming. Blend fatigue?
