Dona Maria Vinho Regional Alentejano Red Blend

In a shadowy red velvet room, you are presented with a single chocolate covered plum and the stub of a sweet cigar. Smoldering ashes of an untended fire warm briefly then flicker out, leaving you in an uneasy darkness pondering your next move.

Hearty and bold. Great winter wine. Blend is Aragonez, Alicante Bouschet, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon.

Rounded, a pleasant bottle

Dark cherry, a bit of tobacco in the nose. All around great red for the price.

JL tasting Portugal Brira interior 2/20/18. $15. 14 ABV. Mixed grapes. 50 Aragonez 20 cab 15 Alicante Bouschet 15 Syrah. Deep red color. More earthy and minerals on nose less fruit. Balanced. Full bodied meaty chewy quality with some spice ave medium finish that's a bit hot. Hmm. Could be interesting in aging.

Dark and cloudy, viscous but not overly alcoholic. Oak was nicely integrated, nutty on the nose (sesame seed?). From justin in Ghent
