Joseph Swan Vineyards
Kent The Younger Russian River Valley Chardonnay

Stone fruit and lemon focused on the nose; sharp and steely with acidity in a good spot...not too overpowering. The entry is flavorful and slightly tart. The mid palate is full of grilled lemon and honeyed sea salt. Oak isn’t a focus at all, just a really nice Chardonnay expression from RRV.

From the young vines of Kent Ritchie's eponymous vineyard. The Ritchie Vineyard produces some of California's best chardonnay, from the likes of Aubert, Ramey, Bevan, and Paul Hobbs. This needed 45 minutes to really get going, but once it did it was stunning. Lemon custard, white peach, and wet stone, with some secondary orange marmalade. The oak is present, but well concealed. Absolutely beautiful chardonnay.

Transparent gold/brass.
Reductive oakey nose.
Medium viscosity with puckering acidity mineral finish.

Smooth like buttah. Really nice balance of oak, vanilla, stone & nickels.
