Clos de la Roche Grand Cru Pinot Noir

This wine and the Lynch-Bages were in competition for WOTN.

A little lite weight and under Textured.

1983. Vintage.

1998 Joseph Drouhin Clos de la Roche - youthful, silky structure, balanced and showing well.

Still needs more time and probably could have settled more.....but delicious!

Ripe and fruity but pleasantly so.

Mine

Strawberry/raspberry fruit combine with wood/spice elements creating a hedonistic fragrance that carries through similarly on the taste. No fading color here. A great construct with length and layers.

As a friend comment - what a classic burgundy! Forest forest floor and beautiful tannic structure. Decanted for 2.5 hours - absolutely necessary!!
