Created by José Maria da Fonseca in 1850, Periquita is made from Castelão (kah-stay-lao) grape, an indigenous variety that thrives in southern Portugal. Deep red with aromas of berries and spice. On the palate blackberry and blueberry flavors with vanilla oak spice. Soft tannins with juicy acidity on medium finish ending with soft spice notes.
