Columbia county 2.0: Rose for Lopez fans like me suffering from recent sticker shock. Instead of 100$ it’s closer to 30$ & while not bearing that same intensity of acidity & barrage of tertiary flavors, close enough. More a lozenge red color, Unami & light red fruit notes, & a very solid acid backbone but not zingy. More like a light red. Paired very well w sliced grapefruit & orange w a tahini sauce, z’atar, & crispy hot onion oil.

Most unusual and complex. Red fruit driven with hints of some oxidative elaboration and oak nuances. Old school in its best meaning. Refreshingly long.

Lovely Rioja wine, bright orange color, a touch bitter, light enough to drink on its own, but strong enough to pair with meat. Had with roasted lamb, and the fat sweetened the flavor nicely.

Ya, beautiful rosé, beefy, slightly nutty/oxidative and slightly saline. Peaches and rhubarb on the nose. Orange peel on the palate. In 2018, 60% Garnacha, 40% Tempranillo. Cold season.
So nice to have this when LdH is getting too heady $$$$
Thanks to Maria José,s husband, Jose Luis.
Thanks @ Sokolin

This ‘17… Is salty….
Beautiful salmon copper, tending pink.Nose like candied grapefruit rind, herbs, mineral.
This effort produced a long, savory, easy on the fruit wine. Perfect actually w a shrimp & sausage gumbo.
Great qpr though the Spanish are creeping up there.
Thanks@Andrea
Note : 1/2 btl , 3 days later w just a rubberized stopper in the fridge and beautiful. A bit richer, tad less acidic.

Beautiful rosé made by Maria Josés husband. Waiting for the nose to emerge. Saline definitely.
But the palate is a delicious, nicely balanced. strawberries and cherries and wood. Very refreshing.
LdH 2.0 indeed.
Thanks@Sokolin
