Almost nutty. darker flavor, as name implies. The particular sour aftertaste makes this beer -- one of my favorites, actually -- maybe because it's so smooth, maybe because of the label, or perhaps because I had this originally on torch lake on the 4th of july. Would also make a superb fall beer. Thanks Charlie!

God damn. A decent beer, bet just a little shy of interesting. Had my hopes up. Still a fair balance between the initial sour and stout flavors, but it just petered out in the end.

The Bam Noire is a good (but not great) beer from Jolly Pumpkin. Good flavors - actually has hints of what I typically associate with a stout or porter with the malt - but is a bit one-dimensional in terms of its evolution on the palate. A decent entry-level beer from this awesome brewery.
