Popped and poured, consumed over three days. The wine was dark ruby in colour and offered lilac, cherry, damson plum, blackberry, some black currant, pepper, clove, vanilla, coconut, coffee and some milk chocolate on the nose. On the palate the wine showed cherry, damson plum, blackberry, some black currant, cola, clove, liquorice, coconut, coffee and some dark chocolate, paired with medium-plus well-integrated acidity, medium-plus fine tannin, a good, creamy mouthfeel and a long finish. The oak was still quite prominent on day one and day two, but seemed better integrated on day three, with less dominant vanilla and coconut aromas. A very good, firm, medium- to full-bodied, balanced wine that should be long-lived. Start drinking from 2015. 90
