Aromas of underripe blackberries, tomato leaf, wet concrete. Blue and black fruit flavors accented with mushroom, soy sauce, white pepper. Good acidity and balance helped it with the pasta and spicy marinara sauce we had for dinner. Tannins are fairly assertive. Not a terribly complex wine, but it delivers enjoyment and good value for the money ($12).

On the nose: upfront a bit of an animal like scent, mind goes to a horse stable. Beyond that it’s a bit earthy as well. Hints of blackberry. Taste is particularly dull compared to the nose. More cranberry taste. Maybe some hints of leafiness?
