Interesting to drink side by side with a Napa Cab Blend. Notable difference in pungent nose. Softer tannins. More complex mouth feel. Blackberry meets black cherry at a 4 way stop.

Very tannic. Too young, but is Big Wine in the making.

2024/1 with garbure. Starts off quite dark and a bit inexpressive, with dense tannin, some oak and a twist of bitterness - but a couple of days later it really opened to reveal some lovely dark fruit, underbrush and a hint of game.

Tried the 2016 at Saint-Emilion. Not a rich, aggressive red, but softer and much easier to drink for its age.
