Do you try to avoid wines with preservatives in? Well this Jim Barry ‘JB’ 2018 Clare Valley Rosé has ‘minimal preservatives added’.
It was one of the Rosé’s in my recent sample rosé subscription delivery from Cellarmasters (thank you so much!). This subscription is brand new and is for us Rosé lovers. You get a delivery of 12 bottles of rosé 3 times a year and each case costs only $156, so approx $13 a bottle - bargain!
This JB Rosé is made from 100% Grenache.
We found it a fluorescent onion skin colour in the glass. Notes of fresh strawberries 🍓, juicy watermelon 🍉 and refreshing lime rise from the glass and entice you in. While in the mouth there’s some red fruit sweetness alongside plenty of zesty acidity to quench your thirst on a hot summers day ☀️

In the glass it’s a pale pinky-orange shade. Strawberry 🍓 mousse with a hint of citrus and freshness entice the nose. While in the mouth it’s full of vibrant flavours of strawberry, lemon 🍋 and it has an ultra smooth and creamy texture which is balanced by refreshing acidity. Mmmmm 🤤 <- this emoji pretty much sums up my note!
