Vieilles Vignes Morgon Gamay

So incredibly pure and delicious. It almost transcends the grape signature. It’s my favorite of the four right now.

After realizing I’d never had a Beaujolais bottle before, I decided to find a top quality one to give a try. This is an “old vine” version from a very reputable producer.

Reddish purple in the glass but a bit translucent. Very candied and floral on the nose! Candied plum, orange zest, and cherry jolly rancher too. A wonderful entry and mid palate with notes of granite, cherry gummies, potpourri and an herbal note...maybe oregano? Very low acidity, and short finish. A fun wine to try and use as a benchmark/standard.

Solid. Nice fruit of the red category, some complex earth/spice/herb stuff.

I wasn’t acquainted with the whole gang until now. Ready to grow old together, is all I got to say.

Great night 1, it was a mousy mess on night 2

Very juicy but vibrant. Slight  effervescence when first opened. Smooth tannins

Lovely, light strawberry yum yum 🍓

Not bad but lacks lift, bright fruit or crunch.

Another good Beauj. Also cloudy like the last one. Tho I’m now confused what “Morgon” means
