Deep ruby; medium plus intensity aromas of blackberry, black plum, black cherry, black currant, underbrush, dried herbs; medium finish; dry, medium plus acid, medium ripe tannins, medium alcohol, medium plus body, medium plus intensity flavors consistent with aromas; very good

Hot damn this delicious. Over delivering on all fronts. Perfect balance of whole cluster, extract and oak integration. From a plot above the Côte Brune on a plateau of schist and clay which creates a nice plumpness on the palate balanced by the acid profile of this wind-exposed site above the Côte Rôtie. Deeply hued, vibrant and seductively ripe blackberry and huckleberry notes, sweet smoked meat, roasted earth, olive tapenade, lavender, leather, tobacco, wood smoke, mocha. The juice and joyous feeling make for an easy drink but theres structural stuffing here to add a serious side. Can’t wait to revisit.

More polished than the Clapes’s, the acid structure is more involved.
