51% Grenarche, 49% Syrah
Deep, and dark garnet, opaque but fresh, dark grape juice-like color.
It is difficult to detect any aromatics within the first hour or two. Slight cassis, grape-y, with a bit of leathery character. Not a lot going for it.
The palate shows tart cherry, meaty, and peppery notes. Again unfortunately closed down.
Either this is a disappointing vintage for this bottling or not the right time to pop one. 2-3 more years could do this wine the world of good. Right now it's a chore drinking it. 85+?
