Palate is super juicy and had a nice richness along with that classic wild side of St. Aubin reds. Charmingly rustic but a ton of fruit, grip and length. Nose gets forest floor and crazy spices as it opens.
Fruit sweetened with air and it ticks up a level of refinement.

Jan 1st, 2022Superb nose. Lifted aromas, deep mashed cherries, hint of VA, mint, mineral, palate is concentrated and sweet with nice freshness but seems short and clipped. Tannins come in in the finish. This needs air. Very awkward now.

Sep 1st, 2020Love Morel’s reds. Brambly, bright, red-fruited nose. Lovely spice. Very pungent. Palate is bright and juicy with wonderful acidity and freshness. Dazzlingly pure and fresh with huge red fruits and a wonderful hint of rusticity. Lovely earth and spice perfume develops after a while. Wow. Still has many years ahead of it.

Sep 10th, 2019Pretty funky upon opening. Horsey like a Raffault. But there is a sense of big cherry fruit lurking. Very floral as well. Some combo there of fresh flowers and horseshit. After 30-45 minutes the shit is gone and it’s all violets, earth and cherries. Awesome. Morel is magic. Palate is deep, raw like only Morel can be, with terrific freshness and acidity and a lovely rusticity. St Aubin Rouge are not the most elegant Burgundies but they have so much more than elegance. This wine is long. Really long. It’s a crazy wine that I think with 3-4 more years will really show well. This is like a young version of the 08.

Really layered and wild but also restrained. Lovely earthy sous bois. It smells so authentic. Just an awesome nose. 9.4. Palate is awesome. Ripe and super juicy with awesome, sappy curly and wonderful freshness and purity. A knockout. Just terrific balance and such unreal fruit. Brilliant showing. Long and precise. This will open more.

Gorgeous, rich dark fruit and spice aromas. Good acidity and strong tannic frame. Has the building blocks for aging but quite delicious now.

Perfect. But needs 3-5 years. Will be a 93-94 I think. Still has present but silky Tanins. So well made.
