Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

A lil fruity. It's 'ight.

First red wine sampled at the Jean Edwards Cellars tasting room in downtown Napa. 88% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Merlot and aged for 21 months in 45% new French oak. Crimson core with garnet edges. Some softer dark fruits with some basil and bell peppers on the nose. Moderate tannins (5/10) with some great moderate acidity. Black cherries and some light vegetal notes like bell peppers. Slight plums in the undertones. Moderate body and finish. One of the better 2011s. Drink till 2022.

Pure fruit expression with light oak and herbal undertones. Light bodies. Integrated tannins. Soft with shorter finish. Didn’t hold up on day 2

Dark red fruit with chocolate, green tobacco and touch of mint. Needs some air / time. Good structure so curious to see where this goes in 5yr
