Deep, dark black cherry color. Smells good. Like rhubarb pie and rose essence perfume. With fruity stuff too. Flavor is woodsy and lean. Bit of cherry cordial to match the berry bowl taste bouquet. Holds on for a longish linger. Bitterness and tannin are well represented as well. Interesting and true to the Rhône, but a bit less full bodied and lush than I like them. Maybe a decant and some opening up would help bring things out.
