The palate shows ample ripe fruit, blackberries, strawberries & sweet cherries, a bit more jammy this time. The finish shows vanilla toasty oak with noticeable heat lingering at end, higher alcohol. Sample.

Jul 27th, 2016Perfectly quaffable, but no character or complexity whatsoever. Kind of like eating brownie batter.

Apr 21st, 2015Inky color. Intense nose. This wine has something to say. Velvety on the tongue. Dark berries and chocolate with a pleasant, lingering finish. This is truly a lovely wine.

Dec 24th, 2018Can’t argue with the fact that Joe Wagner knows how to make a pleasant bottle of wine. It’s not groundbreaking but how many wines really are at this price point?

Sep 4th, 2018This was a pretty good complement to the N.Y. Strip steak we grilled last night! The tannins were very well integrated and had lots of primary and secondary aromas such as blackberry, black plum, smoke, cedar and pepper. I presume the blend is zinfandel, cabernet, and petite syrah--a new classic California blend! It did taste a bit flat and wouldn't be worth the $30+ price tag. I don't think it was stored properly over the last 5 years so would be willing to try it again.
