Jarvis Winery
Reserve Estate Grown Cave Fermented Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Similar to the ‘09 Quilceda Creek, here’s another example of a very youthful wine aging at a glacial pace. Last time I had this was about two years ago at the winery (if you haven’t visited, it’s well worth your time), and it really hasn’t changed much. It’s chewy, with the core finally starting to open. Inky and fresh squeezed dark fruits on the nose alongside currant, cedar, and dark cocoa dusted dates. On the palate, it’s mainly red and black fruit dominant, with chewy black cranberries and blackberry fig. Will be better in 3-5yrs.

This wine has held up extremely well with rich color and soft supple tannins remaining. The longevity of this wine was a pleasant surprise. Very tasty and you would like it.

Sep 22nd, 2016This was the fifth line of the evening and in the lush mouth feel but it was so light and refined. This actually came close to being the wine of the night!! I believe it solidified its place in the second position.

Jun 24th, 2016This was considered by many this evening the wine of the night! It definitely had a little something special. I'm not sure if it was the soft opulent mouth feel for the long-lush finish. Either way, I would have to agree definitely WOTN in my book
