Jul 19th, 2021Better than expected. Extremely smooth. Tannins fully resolved and the fruit, spice, and oak are all fully integrated. There's a really cool choclateness prevalent from sniff to swig. Another winner in the QPR department.

Dec 29th, 2016Very attractive dark purple color, some sediment, but otherwise clear. Nose sees lots of vanilla, tobacco, cigar box, leather. Palette sees spicy blackberries and cherries, more leather, oak, and tobacco. Surprisingly moderate finish with moderate tannins.
The thing that stands out about this wine is how smooth it is- very well balanced but almost to point where nothing sticks out to make it unique. This bottle did have wax over cork- I'm wondering if lack of exposure to air made this taste super young. Have others noticed this?
After 3hrs, wine was significantly better but still, I was craving something more bold, with more extreme spread of taste and profile.
