A Blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with small amounts of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, a portion aged in new French oak. Grapes sourced from several vineyards. Deep Ruby, black fruit aromas with cedar and earthy herb notes. On the palate flavors of black plum and blackberry with cacao, vanilla and cedar on fine tannins. Not nearly as sweet as previous vintages (thank God). Fruity, slightly floral, and chalky aromatics. Strong berry fruit and minerality for taste and a crisp finish. Still incredibly drinkable at 21 years old! Still ruby/garnet hue, fruity and light...
Takes on oxygen fast. Fruitiness turning raisiny after about 10 minutes. We had to decant which doesn't help - drink fast and don't let it breathe if you can avoid it! — 2 years ago
