Ruby red color with aromas of ripe fruits and baking spice, sourced from several vineyards, the wine was aged for 16 months in 2-year and neutral oak French Oak. On the palate flavors of strawberry and plum with earthy herb spice, lively acidity and fine tannins. Medium+ finish, nice mouthfeel, ending with warming cedar smoky spice character. Nice but pricey compared to others.

Jamie Slone Wines is a small producer of some fine wines from Santa Barbara County. P1 (a racing term), is a blend of 66% Cabernet Sauvignon and 34% Syrah, aged for 30 months in new and neutral French Oak. Aromas of lively fruit, spice and cedar notes. On the palate fresh fruit flavors cherry and currants with some leather and cacao spice with underlying gentle sweetness. Well balanced, soft tannins, lingering ending with great mouthfeel. A winner, one of my Fav’s! Tasting Sample.

Wine named after Jamie’s mother’s maiden name and also reference to a 1911 car “Lozier” which ran in the First Indy 500. A very nice Rhône style blend of 31% Grenache, 37% Syrah and 32% Mourvèdre, aged for 10 months on neutral French oak. Beautiful Ruby color with aromas of fresh fruit, spice and herbs. On the palate cherry flavors, a bit jammy, with pepper spice, savory and well balanced. Soft tannins, medium length ending with a sweet fruit character. Lovely. Tasting Sample!

Being from Oregon, I'm fairly partial to Pinot Noir. The aroma was distinct but not overwhelming, and the color is how I expect from Pinot Noir. My first sip hit me with nice hint of currant, berries, and was bet well rounded. This could become one of my favorite "California" Pinot Noir.

Great SoCal Pinot Noir. Toasted spices, caramel, and smoke accompany the gorgeous red fruit. Long finish, amazing balance.
