On the savory side of Syrah, though there's also a nice fruit buffer against the savory notes. Spicy too and a bit of tannic grip. Quite nice... consistent with my tasting at the winery about a year ago if a bit more mellow.

Young yet, but the full throttle fruit is beginning to pull back a bit, giving more space for the smokey/meaty/savory qualities to step forward. Really shines with roasted sweet potatoes and a meaty kitchen sink soup.

Money. Killer. Rad. Channeling my inner @Philip Carpenter who also totally loves these wines. Jaffurs is the poster child of consistency in winemaking, and Verna's is always a powerful tapestry. Super opaque, almost black purple, very ripe/rich black &blue fruits, some lavender, and roasted meats. Pedal to the metal, jump on board and enjoy the ride (now channeling my inner @Bill Bender!).
