Jacques’ star is rising as quick as anybody. I think I even prefer him now to Bourg these days. Dynamite nose. So refined and singular. Subtle yet detailed. Huge granite, red and black berry fruit. A lovely mix. Floral perfume as well. All of these are super subtle and so refined. Jacques’ wines have always been on the elegant side but he’s cranked it up another level in 17/18/19. Blueberry. Clay. So silky on the palate. Waves of superb clear black and blueberry fruit. Just stunning. Soft yet substantial. Velvety and sweet tannins and omg the fruit is so sweet and succulent. Wow. This is very very special. I’m quite in awe of this wine. Unreal class and silkiness and sweetness. Just stunning. A wow wine. Super complex as it opens on the palate. This is an insane value! Wowsers.
After an hour+ this has the most seductive texture and super sweet fruit. But so nimble. This is brilliant.

This is very very good. Nose has granite, hint of brett, but it’s very well integrated and adds to the allure. Perfumed spices and some dark flowers along with gorgeous red berry fruit. Palate is sweet, silky and so finesse driven. Almost delicate for a Cornas. Concentrated and dazzlingly pure with deft precision and unreal length. Sleek, suave and so well made. Energetic and so fresh with lovely granite on the finish. Super. Might be a 9.5. I’ll be back.

Just what you want from a Cornas. Dark fruit, plum and black cherry, savory notes, and some thyme and maybe also lilac. Fresh and still quite fruit forward for a 10 year old wine. Well made and very enjoyable.

Such lovely purity. Very juicy with loads of fruit but also so lively and lipsmackjng. Elegant tannins and great length. Nice complexity and stoniness on the finish.

Palate is complex and deep with a silken structure, outstanding purity and freshness and lingering taste of blueberries. Terrified. Needs 45 minutes to get going.

Very nice Cornas and frankly a crazy value from Fass selections. That said I’m okay that I didn’t buy a case - this is quite ready to go. Still get some good olive on the nose. Wonderful mouthfeel with only dark fruit, earth, etc. Finish could use a bit more acid for my taste but this is still very nice - and a great pairing with the annual homemade cassoulet.
