Musigny Grand Cru Pinot Noir

Deep and quite reticent on the nose. Dark plum fruit. Spices and inky salinity. Very good stuff. Still rather young

Paired with a mushroom soup, this was beautiful. It started a bit closed but opened after about an hour and it was decanted as well. What a fantastic Burgundy should be. Still needs a little time, but wow!

96 last week was better.... supposedly Freddy does not love 99's.

Gripping and powerful. Very dark fruit. Long finish. So much potential.

Give the '99 another decade to snooze. Although, if you contribute one to a dinner, no one will complain.

More earthy with truffle & mushroom. Tonight most preferred the Drouhin.

30th wedding anniversary dinner in Big Sur. Best wine I have ever tasted. Mint, menthol, herbs, dried flowers, river rock on nose, red fruit (cherry), spices, minerals, and some secondary flavors with such a light, silky texture and endless finish. Ethereal. Such a gorgeous wine. And a special evening celebrating 30 years.

1999 Mugnier Musigny. M’s bday dinner at Nob. Rich, dark fruit and a little savory as well. Everyone really enjoyed this.

An enormous wine, two hours of decant showed promising primary flavors with a hint of secondary after some time in the glass. Will need another 10 years to strut its stuff
