What a leap forward compared to 2 years ago. Finally revealing itself. Sweet nose, elegant and silky. If it continues evolving like this: wow!

This Syrah is deep ruby.
On the nose is a medium(+) intensity of aromas, which include ripe black cherry, blackberry, plum, black cassis, licorice, star anise, violet, pepper, nutmeg, vanilla, tobacco, cedar, clove, leather, and earth.
On the palate this wine is dry with high alcohol (14.5% ABV), a full body, medium(+) acidity, medium(+) tannins that are ripe, soft, and fine-grained, medium(+) intensity of flavors consistent with the nose and a medium(+) finish.
This wine is drinking beautifully now, but could improve in its aromatic complexity with additional aging; it’s capable of developing more dried fruit character and earthy notes. It has the structure to carry it further.

Still quite closed in the nose, although the syrah spices are present. Taste starts to reveal itself but clearly still some years before this wine is ready

Aug 27th, 2021Fairly closed nose, typical Italian acidity, still not revealing much. I guess time will have to put things straight. Got this 2015 to check out the 2016’s I still have in the cellar which I will only revisit in a couple of years after having this one...

Classical Syrah, with a touch of Viognier. Perfect Northern Rhône in style with leather, spices and a bit of grilled meat but with ample fruit. Great juicy acidity. A beautiful wine.
