Dense, dark and rich with oak aromas. This deeply purple wine needs air to open. It offers plum, dark chocolate, toasty barrel, warm earth and blackberry fruit. It is dense and structured; a good match for the grilled porterhouse steak today. It stood up to the smoke from hardwood charcoal well. I think it needs time, at least 5 years to begin to unwind and show additional complexity. This is very good quality and a good value.

Jan 2nd, 2023This says Reserva.
I didn’t know.
But… that’s some Spanish old vine Tempranillo w French barrique aging(24 mo.) hell, you could have left it in there another 24.
N: Really smells like dirt and tobacco. Black plums way back there. A Big, black nose of reined in funk.
P: Tannin city, charcoal, prunes, really begs for protein, skillfully done.
Next time, 2hrs in a decanter.
Thanks @ Garagiste.
