This Irvine 2019 Merlot came in the sample pack we were kindly sent ❤️

It’s a juicy plum red colour in the glass. It has a vibrant nose of black plums and currants with a lick of sweet vanilla. In the mouth it’s ultra smooth and satisfying.

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!

I have always thought 2 things. Merlot is made to blend with other wines like Cabernet is the first and the second is that Merlot by itself, whilst lacking panache, has a very soft (almost smooth) finish. Now I I only really think the first thing still. This was a $25 bottle so in Merlot terms it’s a cheapie and maybe I got what I deserved. But this is nothing special flavour wise and has a sharpish finish.
