If someone asked me about ‘minerality’ in wine, I’d give them this bottle. Aroma and palate are both dominated by wet stones, petrichor, smoke, and an earthy metallic quality. Aroma is rounded out with pear and cream notes, a sweet breadiness (animal crackers?), and the mouthfeel is relatively full-bodied with a touch of alcohol warmth. Reminiscent of an un-oaked Chardonnay just with a huge punch of minerality. Stood up well to some Cacio e Pepe and Caesar salad.

Haven't had a Fiano in quite awhile, gone more the leaner Greco route but this '12 vintage is rockin' — minerality for days! Delicious with roasted octopus & potato!

From my husband's family's home town. He said "nice to know I can drink a variety my ancestors drank hundreds of years ago."

Okay the varietal is Fiano. Who has ever heard of that? I would call this light tropical. Got a pineapple thing going on but it's not too sweet and has good acidity. You can throw down a half bottle in about 17 minutes. I LOVE it! Also a long finish.

Sweet smoke with orange zest, citrus blossoms and candied ginger. On the palate the acidity provides a bitterness and it seems that there's a bit of mercaptins, which comes out.

Minerality like crazy. River stones. Smokiness. Terroir. A wine that makes you excited about wine.
