1 person found it helpfulNov 26th, 2021Pop and pour: excellent aromatics, somewhat muddled on the palate. Notes from 1.5 hrs open. On the nose: asian spice, red fruit, blueberry. On the palate: excellent acidity, bitter herbs and minerality, a touch of heat, pomegranate, cherry pit and grainy tannin on the slightly hot finish.

Jan 6th, 2022Wine Advocate 97, its a nice one even though its young
Their review as follows
The 2019 Pinot Noir Bednarik Vineyard comes from organically grown, own-rooted vines in marine sedimentary soils planted in 1988. It has nuanced, autumnal aromas of woodsmoke and fragrant earth with notes of licorice, cracked pepper and garrigue. The palate is silky and inviting, with swirls of spicy berry fruit and a long, pure finish. This embodies the weightlessness and transparency of the best 2019 Pinot Noirs in the Willamette Valley.

Pop and pour (but to be enjoyed over at least a couple of days). Notes from 15 min open. On the nose: intense rose and earth, spice. a touch of va, vanilla and cranberry...wow, this is elegant, but the nose is a lovely statement. On the palate: ok acidity at first, but creamy and good density on the mid with wild strawberry cream and roses, with acidity slowly building, until.intense finely grained tannin kicks in on the finish. Soft pepper, but the tannin is the last thing I taste: very intense. An excellent btl, but we'l see what tomorrow brings..my first experience with this producer.

Apr 17th, 2021Oak and earth on nose. Light body, translucent. Moderate acidity, lots of strawberries and red raspberries on palate. Great wine from Grant Coulter.

Dec 11th, 2019A new winery to me. Took about 30 minutes but then opened beautifully. Should really hold up for another 10 years or more.
