Krettnacher Altenberg Spätlese Trocken Riesling

Delicious and gulpable, as most of Herr Weber's wines. Not sure if it's the vintage, but I feel like this has a serious and phenolic component other bottles haven't. It's too young and even the herbal scents are hiding in the background along with the strawberries. And let's be honest, it's not lacking sulfur. But what's not hiding is the taste of delicious Saar acid and slate. Makes me want to go back to Krettnach, Oberemmel, and Wiltingen.

Truly a study in complexity that has nothing to do with fruit or richness.

Because working in the vineyard in Saturday gives you a thirst that can only be quenched by Riesling.

Tightly wound at 1st. Decant and let her sing!

Needs time but so good acid and happiness

Fantastic stuff. So clean and precise and not even yet showing half of what it's got.

Fresh air aroma of lime, ocean breeze. Screeching acidity, almost bone dry. Precise, very austere, hard to drink by itself but great with food.

Dry Riesling - paired perfectly with sea urchin pasta

Sour and really dry. Almost need water as chaser.

Awfully dry, is there even riesling on this thing?
