2nd day opened. Has lost a step due to 2nd day but is still quite delicious.

Pretty raspberry fruit a bit light and lean but some of that exotic spice showing and a more pronounced minty highlight. Wow very rich and at the same time zesty and fresh with an array of spice and floral notes through. Finish 50+ most excellent+

One of the better chards I've had from John Hilliard's winery along Route 246 near Lompoc, this has improved considerably with a few years in bottle. Still a bit more oak than is my preference, the wine nevertheless exhibits great balance with classic chardonnary aromatics, a medium-plus bodied mouthfeel, and a lingering finish. I still think his Venus bottlings are better expressions of chardonnay, but this one at ~5 years is drinking well!

Excellent example of Sta Rta Hills terroir. Mineral driven, but not quite french, big and ripe like California, but not an oak bomb. Great stuff.

I'm not a Chardonnay person at all but this was lovely. So did not taste like a California Chardonnay

Rich, vibrant yellow. Very impressive and complex wine. Oak and malo present but balanced with citrus and tropical flavors.
