Ned & Henry's Shiraz Mourvedre

A gorgeous everyday drinking Shiraz-Mourvèdre. Rich, great grip and length on the palate and a beautiful dark crimson color. Wow all around...

Lively and spicy. Enjoyed it more than Hewitson's more pricey drops (Mad Hatter, Mother Vine).

Bouquet is dusty rose, alcohol, baked black fruit/jam (blackberry, cherry, plum), eucalyptus or peppermint notes. Clear, medium intensity, ruby in color. Legs. Clean, medium intensity on the aroma. Developing. Dry. Medium+ acidity, medium tannin, medium alcohol, medium body, medium intensity. Flavors are tart blueberry, black fruit, Chinese five spice powder. Texture is like 2% milk. Balanced. Medium finish.

Strong plums on the nose, jammy with menthol or eucalyptus in the mouth. Alcohol is poking out. Somewhat lean. Little mid or back palate.

For a young wine this had all the makings of a great Barossa Shiraz albeit blended. Worthy of another try.

Unremarkable.

Peppery noise, rich but restrained on the pallet, not barossa bright or jam. Noticeable tannins. Med length finish. Tasted while I had a cold
