Nose has amazing Gardenia aromas, sweet honey, freshly milled white pepper and cold wax.
Palate has over-ripe cantaloupe, honey drizzle on green melon, (light) lemon/orange zest and juiced Clementine (faint). Light on the acidity and a bit long on the finish. Decanted 60m. (92-93 points, very nice)
Spectacular pairing to fried eggs (backyard egg factory paying its dues even in the cold of winter) over toasted couscous, softened garlic & red onion, fresh green onion and the star of the dish za'atar (I could eat this on cereal!).

Had the 2013 and 2019. Preferred 2013. Gewurz is REALLY not my favorite but I try to play fair. It’s a good wine. I just don’t want to drink it.

So rich and tropical. Some sweetness (or the sensation of sweetness). Only complaint is lack of finish.

Feb 12th, 2020As I said, I hate Gewurz but I just can’t deny that this is a good wine. With 13 years of age, it becomes even better. Like kind of insanely good. I don’t even know myself anymore.

Jun 21st, 2019I honestly really hate Gewurz but this is a bright and nice wine with plenty of acidity and balanced fruit and floral notes. Still not my favorite but I’ll give it a fair assessment.

A great bottle, this varietal thrives in the FLX region, most notably in the HJW vineyards!

Candied Gardenia flowers, lacks the spice typical of the varietal, but the nose makes up for it 10x!

Big, spicy nose with note of honeysuckle and melon. Lush, juicy and fruity on the palate. Spicy notes lead to bright minerality with lots of acidity and a long, full finish.

Still one of my favorite producers from the region. Medium body. Slightly crisp. Approachable for the newbie but with enough punch for the geek. Great fruit.
