At the Henschke weekend at Spicers Maryvale. Brief notes. 100% Semillon grown on the Henschke Eden Valley vineyard. From 50 year old vines planted by Stephen’s father, Cyril. Very pale in colour. Aromatics of ripe grapefruit. Granny Smith apple on palate with a slightly soapy texture. Different to Hunter Valley Semillon and more approachable at a young age.

We had our last bottle ten years ago and this little beauty is still going strong. It's mellowed a touch but still fresh as a daisy. No toasty elements here, it's all mouthfilling goodness. Fresh acid holds it all together. Not amazingly complex but still good for another 10 years I reckon.
