Feeling fortunate and grateful. A friend brought this back from her trip to Paris as a gift. She was nervous and skeptical as it had sat around an 85°F apartment for a week.
Thrilling, really. From bouquet to finish. Scents of cranberry, blood orange, and spice waft from the glass. The palate gains muscle with air showing cherry, red currant, chalk, and clove with insane length and disciplined concentration. My only knock would be the wood tannin being slightly overpowering on the mid palate, but the finish dazzles with an endless echo of mushroom and earth.
Seemingly just hitting its peak, though it’s bound to stay here or improve for a decade or more. Great stuff.

Jul 22nd, 2023Beautiful strawberry, spice and mineral. Feels a touch on the lighter side but makes sense considering the vineyard location. Beautiful now but better in a few years time.

Nov 13th, 2015This is a Burgundy that needs to breathe, as both the nose and the taste expand exponentially over time. At first taste I was not impressed. While the initial nose was pleasing, I thought it was only average. I was distracted by other things and came back to it about 30 minutes later. The difference was nothing short of amazing; complex cherry, currants and dark chocolate wafted through my nose and it was both smooth and delicious. Zero aftertaste with a good balance between tannins and acidity.
