Here’s your reminder that International Pinot Grigio Day is next Tuesday the 17th of March 🙌

We were kindly sent this sample bottle of the Heirloom Vineyards Adelaide Hills Pinot Grigio to try and we thought it would be a good way to get on the mood for next Tuesday 🥂

In the glass it’s a pastel yellow hue. Whiffs of fresh herbs, juicy pears and crisp citrus escape from the glass. It gives off a really light and refreshing feel to it. We had it with a homemade chicken korma, and it went down a treat. It’s wonderfully bright, crisp, dry and thirst quenching on the palate.

All opinions are my own. Drink what you enjoy!

Sticky orange chicken and Pinot Grigio - so yummy! It sounds like a bit of a weird combo, but it went down very well in our house.

A big thank you to Heirloom Vineyards for sending over this sample of their 2020 Adelaide Hills Pinot Grigio.

Winemakers Elena Brooks & Rosie Signer made this PG and it retails for approximately $30. If you’re wanting to step up your Grigio game - this is the one to do it with!

Check out this glorious description from Heirloom (seriously whoever does their words is a lyrical master!):

“Pinot Grigio can be a simple sip or a symphony of the senses, a moment of pleasure or an eternity of contemplation. Only the poet can know, so stop thinking and surrender.”

I loved the abundance of flavours and textures in this Pinot Grigio 🥰

In the glass it’s a bright straw colour. There’s whiffs of feijoa, pineapple, lemon zest, florals and sweet musk/spice. It’s truly alluring! In the mouth it’s extremely juicy with a bit of apple crunch, lick of pear fruit sweetness and a flavour that lasts a longtime after you swallow. Yum 😋

This #wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!

Who’s doing some at home wine and food matching this weekend?

It’s one of my favourite things to do. I typically pick the wine (or wines 😜) I want to consume and then find a recipe/s to match.

Which is why I absolutely loved the media sample pack I received from Wine Selectors (thank you!!) recently which is a collab with Chef Miguel Maestre. This 6-pack of wine comes with a deliciously curated recipe book by Miguel. If you love Spanish food, then you’ll drool at the sound of these recipes.

The recipe to match this Heirloom Vineyards Pinot Grigio from the Adelaide Hills is Tigres Romesco Coulis aka stuffed mussels 🤤 They sound so freakin delicious!

And the wine? Well that was definitely delicious!

From it’s pale yellow colour to the crisp aromas of citrus, herbs and florals on the nose - it simply oozes freshness. In the mouth itvs juicy and light with pears and lemons coming through. I can just imagine having it at lunchtime with those mussels 😋

Anyone else hungry and thirsty now?
