Faugères Vin Rouge Syrah Blend

Interesting to try this wine 4-5 years later. Holding up very well showcasing graphite, charcoal, ash, and mineral character with rich, black plum fruit.

Venison Faugeresignon.....we'll see how she eats tomorrow eve.

Syrah/Mourvèdre. Dried black fruits, showing some effects of oxygen. This is a burly but clean wine with big, long tannins.

Cairo. Little splurge, but so good. 2015, some sediment. 70% Syrah, 20% Mourvèdre, 10% Carignan. Earthy. 14%

Lots of fruit. Needed the years to mature. Good drinking now!

Inky in color with a distinctive nose that I can't quite place, licorice and earthy qualities on the palette.

From last night...not a breakfast wine!

Dark cherry, plum, graphite, and some chocolatey notes on the long finish. Feels a tiny bit flabby/unstructured.

Dark fruited and rich, with good spice and earth notes. Pretty classic #faugeres

Rich dark fruit. Lush red blend from France.
