Santorini Mavrotragano

Perhaps more interesting than enjoyable. Never in a red have I encountered such salinity, in fact imagine the most saline white and this would give it a good run. Medium - body, Med -tannin: Barbera-like. Unsweetened cranberry juice doused in salt, tobacco leaves and bacon fat.

Shockingly good. Smooth, long tannins. Lots of dried fruit, particularly tart cherry. Good acid and good with food. I feel this wine is fairly polarizing though; even if you are a red wine drinker, you’ll either dig this wine or not like it at all.
