By far one of my all time favorite pinots. I know it seems that I am biased but get your hands on a bottle. Minerality, hint of sea air and brine in the nose. Beautiful

2919 opened Dec 2021. Roses and salt on the nose. Red raspberries on the front with an undertone of gooseberries. Light tannic structure with a lot of herbal notes on the mid-palate. Short finish with some ocean sea notes, and it leaves a faint sourness on the front of tongue.

Blackberries, coffee grinds, and figs on the nose. Green peppers, delicious apples, dark cherry and cassis on the palate. A fair amount of earthiness and spice. Really solid.

Perfect age. Opening up. With a steak. Great veggies. Watching the birds outside. A very good evening for social isolation.

Obviously compared to the 2003 Marcassin Three Sisters Pinot, this one has more youth. This one did seem to be a little more unidimensional. Had a lot of good raspberry on the nose and up front. But the middle of this wine finds an herbal stride and finishes rather acidic. I am not sure if this one needs two more years in the cellar or should have been consumed two years PRIOR to now. But, it is actually quite delicious but lacking a bit of complexity.

2002. Tremendous. Still has some youthful fruit, but with beautiful earth and mushroom notes.
