Mission Del Sol
Madeira-like wine made from old vine Mission grapes from the historic Deaver Vineyard. One of the best things I've ever put into my mouth. 16.5% alc. Moderately sweet and so complex that I can't put it into words. The last vintage of this, the 1986, was just bottled 2 years ago after 30 years in barrel. Hopefully I can track some down.

Aug 22nd, 2017Good showing. Nutty, oxidative. Acidity dominated. Could use a touch more RS to balance. Definitely interested in trying the '84

Oct 11th, 2015It was an honor to bottle the final vintage for Darrell Corti. Very nice to have @Tegan Passalacqua there to assist.

May 17th, 2015I give it a 10 for the history of this wine, and the winemaking method. Delicious pairing with coffee cake; all thanks to Darrel Corti.

Apr 7th, 2015The only wine like it in the world. Wonderfully unique and storied. Ask Darrel Corti if you want an interesting wine and you'll never be unsatisfied!

Jun 23rd, 2018Whoa. Interesting, to say the least. Ethyl acetate was painful on the nose but the sweet viscosity in the mouth gave way to some tasty oxidative flavors. Thanks to Mr. Corti for sharing with dessert.
