I think this is their most successful Pinot in the past few vintages. A little shy right now, sure, but I think it’s going to be firing on all cylinders in 2-3 years. Restrained, perfumed, and with enough structure to develop nicely.

Pale ruby color, with Pronounced aromas of ripe, jammy strawberry, cherry tobacco and forest floor. Some vanilla comes out along with some tertiary notes. High acidity, medium + body, medium alcohol (13.5%) with the palate mirroring the nose, adding to strawberry and cherry some mineral and earthy graphite notes. Fine grained tannins with a medium finish. complex, with very good quality lacking only a longer finish to bring it up to par with the finest examples from Walker Bay.

Ernie, the genie, prepared the entire 5+ course meal for 18 guests and convinced all of us that South African Pinot can taste like premium Burgundy!

Wow. A delicious Pinot Noir from South Africa. Need to try other ones.
