Hall Wines
T Bar T Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon
January Wednesday Wine Committees are always a great as the red wines are required to be 11yrs old, making all of the reds 2008 vintage. 1 sparkler, 2 whites, 4 reds and 1 dessert wine were served today, all blind.
Have to give it to Hall...they know how to churn out consistent wines. I called this Bordeaux, actually. Never had a Hall this old. It’s shed the baby fat of red, blue and black fruit and showing more plum and cassis. Little bit of leather to it, with some dark cocoa dusted dates. Drinking nice, but I think I enjoy Hall’s winemaking style in its youth a touch more than 10yrs of age on them.

1 person found it helpfulApr 20th, 2015In comparison to the Kathryn Hall, much more approachable now. More compacted. A combo of blackberry, cinnamon bread, and oak. Attacks the tongue with medium toast and a bit of toffee. Have not had a Hall wine that I haven't thoroughly enjoyed.

Sep 12th, 2015Just A bit harsh and Tannic. Perhaps more time in the cellar or in a decanter because the wine has a lot of backbone.

Jul 5th, 20152008, lovely example. Fruit-forward, spicy nose. In the palette, the wine has hit its stride. Tobacco and dark fruits hold the stage. Tannins are still poking out. Nice, textured finish. Drink these up now.

May 21st, 2015Hall Cab in the Alexander Valley, a bit different from their Napa Cabs. Tastes great, subtle, ripe cherries, round, balanced, creamy finish. Light tannins.
